Finally On Our Way!

Left Pensacola this morning, February 5, 2016, even though it was windy, headed for Destin.  We passed some Air Force operations, they were dropping parachuters into the water, and picking them up with boats.

We are at Shalimar Yacht Harbor, docked next to another Looper couple, with a boat that is almost exactly like ours, Bob and Barbara Nickelson from Houston. Spent a lovely evening with them. Plan to leave together in the morning and head for Panama City, where we will probably be for several days. The wind is supposed to be pretty rough through Wednesday. The goal is to get to Carrabelle, and then wait until the Gulf is really calm, so we can do 170 miles in the Gulf to Clearwater, Florida, the longest part of the Loop in open water.

The cats did pretty well, they didn't know what to do, but eventually left their beds and ended up settling into a bookshelf.
