Adventures in Fort Myers and Sanibel Island

Saturday night, March 12, we got in our two dinghies and the five of us went out to dinner across the bay. The trip over was in the light, but the trip back was in the dark. We didn't have the proper lights, so we rigged up some red and green lights with solo cups and flashlights. We have official ones now.
This is the restaurant, Doc Ford's.

Captain Patrick

These are shrimp boats, lit up by the building behind them.

Bob and Barbara

We sat outside on the water. Wonderful.

Yesterday, Monday, March 14, we rented a car. Patrick is still in Key West, so the four of us went to Sanibel Island, a pretty, upscale island with lots of traffic and many boutiques, restaurants, and gorgeous homes.

Stop for lunch.

Then we drove over to Tarpon Point Marina in Fort Meyers, a little fancier than the ones we have been staying in.

Then we hit Ace Hardware, Sam's Club, Publix, and West Marine. The car was full!
Last night we took advantage of the car to drive to the beach to a nice restaurant. Barbara and I walked on the beach, while the guys waited for a table. As luck would have it, it was sunset.
Oh darn.
