Trouble in Paradise

Yesterday, April 10, 2016, we left Titusville after waiting for the rocket launch, and then the wind.
I got up and photographed the sunrise, and then we set off toward Mosquito Lagoon, the Indian River, Ponce Inlet, New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange.

We cut across the Haulover Canal and under the Allenhurst Bridge, where there were tons of people fishing, and we saw some manatees!

After we got through the canal, we went past Ponce Inlet, and we were cruising along in the channel when we ran aground. The depths dropped so fast, we didn't see it coming. Luckily it wasn't a violent stop, but when we took the engines out of neutral, there was a distinct vibration, a sign of damage to the props.

We stayed in a marina near this lighthouse called Inlet Harbor. Then we found a boat yard and marina called Sea Love that could help us, so this morning, April 11, we moved the boat over here.
They took the boat out of the water as soon as we arrived, and we got our first look at the props.

This is not what the prop is supposed to look like. This one had the most damage, the other one was only slightly bent.

They took the props off, then they put the boat back in the water, and moved it around onto a dock with the lines, and a small tow boat.

Moving the boat without the engines on was a little tricky.

Tonight's sunset.

We're safe in the marina tonight, waiting to hear how long the repairs will take.
